Abstract

This research study aims to analyze the appropriateness of the materials in Bahasa Indonesia textbook based on 2013 curriculum. The evaluation on the content appropriateness was conducted on the basis of five criteria including the completeness, the depth, the breadth, materials update and the conformity with the students’ age. The object of the study is Cerdas Berbahasa Indonesia textbook published by Erlangga for the tenth graders of Senior High School. This qualitative research study applied content analyses research method. Scoring and numbers in this study were used only to assist the researchers to assess and evaluate the object of the study. Overall, the results of the study shows that the textbook can be categorized very good. Cerdas Berbahasa Indonesia textbook consists of 10 chapters. Based on the appropriateness criteria, the materials in the book reached number 4 in terms of the completeness, the depth, the breadth, and materials update.
