Abstract
Through communication both orally and in writing, one can explore the language skills are good, true, and manners so as to reflect his personality. If a person can not speak in a dignified manner, then it can be shown that the person has a good personality. User Indonesian polite markers can be identified by the following: speakers talking common sense, emphasizes the point, assume good faith to the hearer, open and criticisms in general, to use self-defense in a straightforward and sarcastic, and the speakers were able to distinguish the situation seriously joking . This paper discusses how the personality of the community as a form of Indonesian people who either through the use of Indonesian study was polite in writing articles in the mass media Sumatera Ekspress.
