Abstract

The objective of this research is for knowing empirically the correlation between independent variable which is secure attachment with dependent variable which is assertiveness. The submitted hypothesis is there are correlation between secure attachment with assertiveness at the Non-Reguler student of medical faculty of sriwijaya university period 2010 Palembang. The population in this research was 136 students, while the sample used was 100 students. The subject of research was taken by using simple random sampling. The measuring instrument which was used in this research is secure attachment scale and assertiveness. The data analysis was conducted by using a sample regresion thechnique and supported by SPSS version 16.0. The conclusion from result of this research is there is a very significant correlation between secure attachment with assertiveness at the Non- Reguler student of medical faculty of sriwijaya university period 2010 Palembang, it is showed by the value of p < 0.01 ( p = 0.000). It can be said if the attachment secure of student become better, so the assertiveness of that student will become better. In otherwise if the attachment secure of student become worse, so the assertiveness of that student will become worse too. Supported with effective donation value which is given from secure attachment variable to assertiveness about 39.4% (R ² = 0.394).
