Abstract
With the development of computer networking technology and the need to communicatebetween users who want the convenience and unlimited by space and time, VoIP(Voice Over Internet Protocol)technology comes as an alternative to even as a replacement for conventional telephone service, VoIP is a technology that allows voice conversations remotely through media computernetwork. VoIP can be implemented on any computer network either LAN network to Internet network. Currently Bina Darma University uses PSTN technology to communicate in each building, by looking at the backbone network of University of Bina Darma that already occupy it is necessary to develop communication system by using VoIP technology with Operating System and open source application to reduce expense cost..
