Abstract
“This research aims to determine the influence of corporate governance on the financial performance of cigarette companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange. Independent variables in this study are board of Commissioners, independent Commissioner, Board of Directors, independent director, and Audit committee. While the dependent variable in this study is the financial performance of the company (ROE, ROA, ROI). This study uses an associative research method to search for relationships between one variable and another variable. Data analysis techniques include (1) Descriptive statistics (2) classical assumption tests include normality, multicholethearity, heteroskedastisity, and autocorrelation (3) Multiple Linear regression tests (4) Hypothesis tests include test R ^ 2, test F and test T. Sample Used in this research is a cigarette company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2015-2018, with a total of 4 companies per quarter and there are 64 number of research samples. The results of this study concluded that the variable board of Commissioners, independent Commissioner, Board of Directors, independent director, and Audit Committee simultaneously impacted the financial performance measured by ROE, ROA, ROI. Independent Commissioners, Board of Directors, and audit committees have no effect on ROE's financial performance. The Board of Commissioners has an effect on the financial performance measured by ROE, ROA, ROI. Independent directors and independent commissioners have a negative impact on the financial performance measured with ROI and ROE”. Keywords: Corporate governance, corporate financial performance
