Abstract

The title of this study is The Influence of Mind Mapping Technique and Reading Attitude on Students Reading Comprehension Scores at Amik Bina Sriwijaya Palembang. Formulation of the problems are: 1) Is there any significant difference in average score between students who both have positive attitude toward reading taught using mind mapping technique and those taught using conventional technique? 2) Is there any significant difference in average score between students who have positive attitude toward reading taught using conventional technique and those who have negative attitude toward reading taught using mind mapping technique? 3) Is there any significant difference in average score between students who both have negative attitude toward reading taught using mind mapping technique and those who taught using conventional technique? 4) Is there any significant different in average score between students who have negative attitude toward reading taught using conventional technique and those who have positive attitude taught using mind mapping technique? 5) Is there any interaction effect students’ average score who are taught using mind mapping technique and positive attitude toward reading in students reading comprehension score? Research method that was used is factorial designs. The results of this study are: the two groups are significantly different and the null hypotheses (Ho1, H02, Ho3, and Ho4) were rejected and the research hypothesis (Ho5) which stated “there is no an interaction effect between students’ average scores who are taught using mind mapping technique and conventional technique towards students’ reading attitude was accepted.
