Abstract
This research is motivated by the problem of students who are less interested to read a biography of discourse so that what they said is not as expected, as well as talk the students do not trust myself to mengungkapakan what they know that what they know is not revealed and expressed. The research problem is how the application of the model group investigation in discourse comprehension learning biography class VII Middle School High Cliff PertamaNegeri 4 Four District Lawang. This research method using the experimental method. All students study population (149 people) class VII. The sample used graders and VII.4 VII.2. Instruments that use the initial test and final test. The research was carried out 3 times in the control class and in class experiments, initial test control class scored an average of 45.8 or only 1 person who completed initial testing while the experimental class scored an average of 51 or 3 people who completed . The ultimate test control class scored an average of 57.2 or 8 people, while the final test experimental class scored an average of 74.8 or 24 people. Based on these results, a comparison of experimental and control class students have differences in the initial test and final test. And the results of the final test more experimental class improved after being given the model group investigation
