Abstract

Information Technology has a number of capabilities to bridge various human activities. With its high speed, large capacity, and wide range of services, IT is the choice for various communication schemes. The global COVID-19 pandemic has made all activities very limited. This research is important to bridge the condition of health protocol compliance but still carry out learning activities. So this study reviews what applications or social media platforms are widely used in digital communication on campus or at university. A number of IT applications are reviewed for their use in universities. Teaching communication between lecturers and students uses social media (Dropbox, Facebook, Google forms, Moodle, WhatsApp, WordPress, YouTube, Zoom, etc.). Communication on campus is also reviewed with the services of several IT applications. This study involves action and descriptive research. Data is collected and analyzed during the exam using Google Forms. There are 8 (eight) social media platforms that can be used for learning communication, namely: a) Dropbox, b) Facebook, c) Google Forms, d) Moodle, e) WhatsApp, f) WordPress, g) YouTube, and h) Zoom. On the one hand, the global COVID-19 pandemic has hindered a number of learning activities but has also triggered the acceleration of digital acceleration in the field of higher education through a number of social media platforms IT applications.
