Abstract
Abuse of copyright in the digital products such as the image of not only manipulate and disseminate freely only one work, but also on the label of ownership. Most digital products that are currently in circulation does not include ownership of the copyright or any information about the owner of a work so that the work is very easy to be taken over by another person and that person claims that the work is his. One way to protect copyrighted images is to insert or hide a secret message by means of watermarking techniques. Watermarking images is done using discrete cosine transform (DCT) with the process of breaking the image into various frequency bands. high-frequency, low, and middle is used to insert other information. With the process so that the secret message pasted it does not damage the image of the original. In this study resulted in a program to insert watermarks as proof of copyright ownership created in MATLAB applications using discrete cosine transform (DCT).
