Abstract

Regardless of the bad reputation acquired by bus (number of pick pocketing and noisy music) turns out to be means of public transportation still interested people of Palembang. With its noisy conditions, then make the subjects or individuals who were in bus choose its own way of doing interaction. Both the passenger, driver and helper on bus choose to use non-verbal language as a way of communicating in the bus. The study was conducted with qualitative research methods. Retrieval of data through observation, interview, documentation and data analysis. The issue under study is: What form of nonverbal communication in bus Palembang. The results showed that the form of nonverbal communication in bus include: tapping on the roof of bus, clapped loudly and tapping the glass with a coin bus with the word "stop" or "left", shaking coins in the palm of the hand , shake hands with forward palms, closing the ears with their hands and listening to MP3 player, and say "Yes ...!" when asked to stop, as he continued driving bus
