Abstract
The local government of Palembang City is asked to manage and maximize the potential of existing economic resources for the survival and progress of each region through regional income. One effort that can be done to maximize regional income is derived from the local tax sector. Palembang City which is a culinary and industrial tourism city and one of the cities designated as the host of the ASEAN GAME in 2018 this will affect local tax revenue especially advertisement tax. This research is included in a descriptive study using a qualitative approach. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of growth rate, effectiveness and contribution of advertisement tax revenue to regional income, as well as any obstacles and efforts made by the Palembang City BPPD in increasing advertisement tax revenue to regional tax revenue. The results of this study indicate that the average growth rate of advertisement tax revenue on receiving local taxes in 2015-2018 reached 5.65% with the criteria unsuccessful. For the average effectiveness of advertisement tax revenue on local tax revenues in 2015-2018 reached 102.509% with very effective criteria, and for the contribution of advertisement tax revenue to local tax revenue had an average of 2.21% with the criteria unsuccessful.
