Abstract

This study examined the influence of colors (red, blue, green, purple, orange and yellow) on short term memory of the eight grade students of junior high school 37 Palembang. Participants were 30 students of senior high school which is devided into two groups, the experiment group and control group. The design of this experimental study is randomized two group design posttest only. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data in this study were analyzed using the technique of independent sample t-tests, the results of the data analysis obtained a significant effect of color (red, blue, green, purple, orange and yellow) on short term memory with a value of ρ = 0.000 (ρ <0.01) in and the value of t = -4926. Based on these results it can be concluded that the color effect on short term memory eighth grade students of Junior High School 37 Palembang.
