Abstract
Changing social and political conditions and the trend towards a democratization of public decision-making enforce the role of participation in planning. The growth of Information Technology and Communication (ICT) has revolutionized methods not only in business but also in the social and political life. Therefore this trend pressures governments to open up their decision-making processes for citizens to participate over the Internet, in so-called e-participation. This paper discusses several methods that can be applied in e-Participation implementation, based on various literature surveys. In addition to this, ICTs also provide platforms to engage more citizens in democratic processes than using conventional methods, more speed to share to inform others, reduced cost; in order to deliver services and direct communication with stakeholders.
