Abstract
Computer networks are needed by many companies to improve and facilitate employee performance to be more effective. Computer networks consist of LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network) and MAN (Metropolitan Area Network). The existence of an internet network is a tool that allows one to find information and share important data. So the need for one computer with another computer is interconnected by a communication system. To overcome this problem is a WAN network (Wide Area Network). WAN network that connects many LANs (Local Area Networks) that cover a very wide geographical distance. WAN operates on a broader geographical area and connects devices that are separated from distance and global area, so it can be concluded that WAN Networks can facilitate the resolution of problems found in the Traffic Section of the Transportation Service of the South Sumatra Provincial Government, to overcome the problem of limitations in sharing data Data about Traffic. The results obtained from a Wide Area Network (WAN) network technology is to make it easier for a stream of communication and information and to speed up a process of sharing data updates between offices at any time. There are many benefits that can be used in using the WAN network, one of which is that operational costs are more efficient and also able to reach a wider area.
