Abstract

Th sudden collapse of concrete. The reinforcement used in this study was derived from e weakness of concrete is brittle (hard). The brittle nature of concrete allows the petung bamboo. Bamboo petung used in concrete mix is the inner part of the bamboo which is selected by peeling the outer skin of the bamboo and forming a round shape.This research was conducted to obtain the results of a comparison between using normal reinforcement (steel) with plain petung bamboo reinforcement and notch reinforcement made of 5 concrete blocks and obtained an average value between the three test objects namely Normal reinforcement 4.60 MPa, Plain Bamboo Reinforcement 3.85 Mpa, and Reinforced Bamboo Notch 4.87 Mpa.The results of this study indicate from the flexural strength testing that the notch bamboo reinforcement is effective enough for an alternative to normal bone (iron).
